Energy-related Services
The MVV Energie Group has further strengthend its position as one of the top providers of energy-related services in Germany. We were early to invest in efficient energy generation, energy-saving technologies and the increasing use of renewable energies. The German climate protection package and the calls for energy savings and improved energy efficiency offer growth potential which we intend to exploit.
In our energy-related services business, we are focusing above all on projects and measures aimed at enhancing efficiency and optimising energy consumption for industrial, commercial, real estate and healthcare players, as well as on the operation of industrial parks. We have presented details of specific construction and investment projects in the Sustainability chapter.
Within the Sales and Services reporting segment we generated substantial volume growth with industrial and commercial customers/secondary distributors.
This growth was driven in particular by nationwide gas sales to industrial and commercial customers. This was countered by a reduction in gas turnover with private and business customers, a development due on the one hand to milder weather conditions and on the other to a competition-related loss of volumes.
The increased gas turnover in the energy-related services business was attributable to the industry park business.
