Quality tap water means high quality of life
Drinking water is a staple resource. For customers in Germany, the reliability and quality of the supply are of utmost importance. Customers of the MVV Energie Group can rely on a supply of drinking water of superb quality and available at all times in sufficient quantities.
The slight decline in water turnover seen for years now continued in the 2010/11 financial year to 53.7 million m3 (-1%). This trend reflects consumers’ more thrifty consumption patterns and their use of water-saving appliances. Our water business is mainly characterised by the Sales and Services reporting segment, which accounts for 87% of our total water turnover. Private and business customers are the main customer group here.
Dry weather conditions in April and May 2011 led to a slight rise in water turnover in this group.
The decline in volumes in the Strategic Investments reporting segment relates to Stadtwerke Solingen and the Czech subgroup.
