Mannheim State Museum of Technology and Labour: An Opportunity to Experience History and Experiment

Around 200,000 visitors a year set out on a journey through space and time at the State Museum of Technology and Labour, enabling them to gain first-hand experience of scientific, technical, social and economic transformation in southwest Germany from the 17th century to the present day.

Since 2004, the Elementa at the State Museum has also been conveying the scientific foundations of the topics and exhibits covered by the museum. In this section, visitors can undertake their own hands-on experiments. The State Museum also has an outpost at the Mannheim Museum Ship. This is located on the River Neckar below the Kurpfalz Bridge and acts both as an exhibit in its own right and as an exhibition location. The permanent exhibition is dedicated to aspects of inland water transport. The Neckar Laboratory and further experiment stations invite both young and old to immerse themselves in life on and in the water.

MVV Energie regularly supports the exhibitions held at the State Museum - an exemplary commitment on the part of the company.
