Energy needs good contacts – that’s why we are very close to the population, acting as a reliable partner for around 170,000 customers in the Rhine/Main region. The energy market has long been characterised by high speed and enormous dynamism. Companies aiming for success have to remain flexible and adjust to new challenges more rapidly than their competitors.

We understood from the very start that the liberalisation of energy markets harboured both risks and opportunities, and have adjusted our structures accordingly. Our success speaks for itself – the EVO Group generates annual sales of more than Euro 300 million with around 850 employees in Offenbach. In addition to EVO AG, the group of companies also includes the wastewater disposal company Abwasserbetriebsgesellschaft mbH (ABeG) and the gas supplier Gasversorgung Offenbach GmbH (GVO).

Together with our partners in the MVV Energie Group we have set up a strong network. Some internal services, such as grid management and invoicing, have been pooled at joint subsidiaries. Pooling these services enables us to work more effectively and to enhance our competitiveness. These companies act on the market under the umbrella brand of “24/7”, which stands for service around the clock, seven days a week.

We have been making history since 1847 – the days of Prince Metternich, Heinrich Heine and Karl Marx. At that time, we were founded under the name “Gasgesellschaft in Offenbach”. Today, we supply the region with electricity, gas, water and district heating. Not only that, we have extended the services surrounding our core business – at the EVO waste-to-energy plant, for example, we incinerate more than 200,000 tonnes of waste a year using the latest technology, an environmentally friendly process which converts the energy potential in the waste into district heating and electricity. The energy thereby generated enables us to supply 13,000 households. Moreover, we also manage buildings, operate heating plants and maintain thousands of street lamps and traffic lights.

We long ago made the leap from municipal energy supplier to regional service provider. We have made a name for ourselves with our sophisticated solutions. We don’t wait until it is dark before turning on the lights.
