In our environmental energy business, which focuses on generating steam and electricity from non-recyclable waste and biomass, we are Germany’s third-largest operator of waste and old timber incineration plants. In our energy services business as well, we have built up a leading position in the German market by offering decentralised energy generation concepts, energy saving contracting services and supplying energy and utilities to industrial parks.

With our strategic realignment, we have laid a foundation for the sustainable profitable further development of our group of companies. We will be investing three billion euros in our existing business and in sustainable profitable growth over the next ten years. Renewable energies and the future markets of climate protection and energy efficiency form one of the focuses of our medium and long-term strategy.
